We rented Canopy Escape for two nights in February...

We rented Canopy Escape for two nights in February. We paid extra so that we could check in early and the house still wasn't ready until after 12:00. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the stench of decomposing mice and the back door was left open, so the house was cold. There were wet stains from where mice had been caught under the sink and not checked so they rotted into the wood.

The driveway is very steep and when we arrived earlier in the morning (and were told that we couldn't get into the house) it was still unplowed. We left to ski for the afternoon without checking in, hoping that the driveway would be cleared so that access wasn't a problem. The snow was "plowed" while we were gone but about one inch of ice still coated the driveway. We slowly backed down the driveway and immediately began sliding backwards, with the wheels locked up. If we hadn't been moving slowly it could have been extraordinarily dangerous. We parked the car (a 4x4 Ford Expedition with all-weather tires) halfway up the driveway and unpacked everything for our stay, sliding up and down the icy driveway as we did so.

We immediately called customer service and told them about the stench, the open door, and the driveway. We also asked why the porches and decks hadn't been shoveled because there were 16-20" of ice and snow on them and were told "it's not something we do". Spending an hour shoveling ice and snow so that we could use a small portion of the deck wasn't something I had budgeted extra time and energy for. Still hoping to make the most of the trip, we asked for cleaning supplies (none were in the house) and extra salt to thaw the driveway. We were assured that someone was on their way to help. That was around 4:00.

Over the next five hours, we repeatedly called both customer service and the maintenance line and spoke to different individuals. We were continually assured that someone was on their way and that it would be taken care of. When we asked if Taylor Made provided haul out service (because the truck was stuck in ice) we were told to call the Department of Transportation. Helpful.

No one ever came. No more salt. No cleaning supplies. No return call. No follow up.

Instead of skiing the following day we tried to get the car out of the driveway and eventually called a tow company to pull us out. We paid the bill. We drove into town and bought 100 lbs of salt and put it down on the driveway, resolving the issue. A simple fix that required very little time if done properly.

The house, Canopy Escape, is phenomenal. It is cozy and comfortable and was exactly what we were looking for. Taylor Made is absolutely the worst management company we have ever rented through. Lack of management and customer service guarantee that we will never rent through them again and I caution anyone who is considering renting through them or giving them the management of their house.

After our stay, we followed up with both the customer service line and attempts to reach management to discuss and resolve this and didn't receive any return calls. I have never left a review, even when things were less than perfect, but wish that I had more warning about how terrible Taylor Made is to rent from. STAY AWAY AND FIND ANOTHER MANAGEMENT COMPANY TO DO BUSINESS WITH.
