It's worthwhile to do the free tour. The paid tour possibly not so much, because they aren't allowed to take you everywhere anyway, and you're only allowed to photograph the areas that are covered by the free tour. Try to go on a weekend if you want free parking. I loved the tapestry, which is accessible without any tour.
