My low rating is based on the tutankhamen exhibition itself, not the exhibits (obviously). Bearing in mind every poster and advert features the famous burial casket and mask It would be reasonable to assume that it was part of the exhibition. So as we got crushed through the crowds in the first four rooms we eagerly anticipated the highlight in room five. Unfortunately we ended up in the gift shop asking each other if we had actually missed the most important exhibit. The small notice next to the replica of the mask in the gift shop points out that the original does not leave Egypt.
I can completely understand why this is the case but I can t understand why the exhibition seems to be selling itself on that one particular treasure.

In actual fact, the exhibition is a very small selection of the treasures and we expected to see a lot more. The audio guides are a complete waste of money As all the important information is written on the showcases. Coupled with the very obvious overcrowding (which is clearly the galleries method of maximising revenue as much as possible) we left disappointed.
