We went to Meriwether's to celebrate a marriage, and were a party of 6. We made reservations, and detailed plans for our special night. What a mistake. From the very beginning we were rushed and pushed through our meal. The server kept breaking into our conversation and asking us what we wanted next. He took our plates away before we were even finished, and we had to literally hang on to them to finish our meal. The manager came over and asked us to leave as she had "to turn the table." We spend almost $500 for the dinner, and expected to take our time, and enjoy this special night. It was absolutely awful. The food was very average, they took no time at all to explain the menu, or the items their menu so proudly touted as local and farm grown. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone as they simply don't care about your experience and only care about getting people in and then quickly out. They knew it was a special occasion and just couldn't see past making money. Entrees range from $30 to $40 and are generally way overpriced for what you get. Don't bother going to Meriwether's - as they are many far better choices in Portland that will honor the occasion and offer outstanding food and service! $500 and asked to leave so they could turn the table, that's unforgivable to us, we won't go back.
