I attended FUMA for 6 years and at first had a difficult time being away from my family & friends but that didn't last too long once I got involved in sports & other activities. I found the faculty & administration to be very supportive and they became my second family. While at FUMA my parents were going through a divorce & I don't think I could have made it if I didn't have my peers & some of the faculty to lean on when times were tough. Anyone who has served in the military can relate to the bonds that are formed when everyone is treated the same & they go through the ups & downs together. I firmly believe everyone needs structure & disciline in their lives & I gained that while @ FUMA. Going to a military school is not easy because a lot of people don't like too be told what to do & have to follow rules all the time. If you learn to accept what FUMA is trying to do then when you leave there, you will be a better person in every sense of the word. I believe that the person I am today is a direct result of my time @ FUMA plus what my parents instilled in me. There is nothing wrong with looking someone in the eye when you talk to them or say yes sir or no sir when speaking with a person. These are traits that are reinforced by the faculty along with a hundred other positive attributes that everyone should have & use in their daily lives. Lastly, if something is hard and pushes you to be your best then you come out the other side a stronger & better human being.
