I was a patient in the Cedar Crest Boys Unit for a month of my life. It was horrendous. I mean, the staff were exceptional. I loved most of them, and they really did help me. But the schedule, protocols, therapy sessions itself, school, recreational time and the food were all terrible. I passed my math and science classes and should have it documented, but it s been 3 months and I still have no transcripts. The patient controlling was horrible, a patient tried to kill me while I was there. My friend was there for 9 months, and my other friend was there for 5. The psychiatrist s solution to everything was increasing dosage, which drove most patients to near insanity. Truly the worst place I ve ever been.
