The Fairmont never fails to delight with the highest quality of service, beautiful rooms and one of the best views in the city. We just stayed for a weekend on my 50th birthday and the front desk clerk was more than happy to give us a room with an upgraded view of Coit Tower and Alcatraz in the Bay. We stayed in one of the newer Tower rooms which was absolutely gorgeous with a Marble shower and separate tub. Beautiful fixtures and very nice appointments and framed photos throughout. One of the few complaints I have could be the parking. Valet is $18 an hour which comes to $72 for an overnight stay but there is a public parking garage directly across the street that is substantially less expensive at $40 per night that is open 24 hours so that you can park as well as get your car whenever you need. With public transportation like the Muni bus system as well as Uber and Lyft there really is no reason to drive your own car during your visit. Its a short walk (downhill) to China Town and several lines of the famous cable cars run directly outside the hotel and in fact that's one of the best ways to see the city. The Fairmont is always one of the best places to stay in one of the best cities in the world and is highly recommended by this reviewer.
