The people that run the organization I m sure mean well, but they re rude. Deciding to adopt a dog verses buying a puppy from a breeder is a helpful and responsible choice, but interacting with these folks might leave you feeling inadequate and make you want to quit trying. PLEASE don t let a negative experience with this organization dissuade you from providing and loving home to a dog that needs it.

To Lhasa Happy Homes: If you care about providing great homes to dogs then you might consider being supportive and kind to people who are attempting to help. If many people around you say the same thing then maybe the problem is you.

To people who would like to adopt a pet from this place: they will be VERY selective based on your responses to the questions in the application. They will be borderline unreasonable. If you re interested in adopting a dog from them you should say in the application that you will spend any amount of money necessary (we said we were prepared to pay for pet insurance AND pay up to $1000 for unexpected medical issues and that was insufficient). You should respond that you will not give up even if you are never able to house train the dog. You should basically not say that anything would ever make a dog not a good fit for your home. Good luck, and don t forget, there are many other adoption agencies out there.
