Worst hotel experience I have ever had so far in my life!

Let s start with the access first. Before you even attempt reaching the hotel premises be aware that you will have to pass through some raising bollard access point located at the far end of Noordeinde Street. The bollards only allow access for 20 min. during each hour (split in 2 equal 10 min. intervals) between the hours of 11 AM 23 AM. Make sure you check your arrival time before you actually get there otherwise you ll be stuck in front of these bollards for ages. You can eventually ring to hotel s reception who can give you a code to type in so you can gain access. But wait, nightmare is not over yet! Before you will have reached the hotel, as you approach you ll find yourself in a narrow street full of shops, cafes and bustling with tourist which will make your driving experience a hell. You ll have to watch for pedestrian traffic a lot! As you turn left as the parking is at the rear of the hotel surprise, another bollard access point. Past that and just before the parking, another barrier this time! Honestly, I went to military bases with far less security and check point than this sorry hotel!

At the reception average customer service, not very happy to see you as a tourist. But wait to see the room! We went in and again, surprise, the window sill was littered with mosquitoes, alive and ready to eat us! Went back to the reception to complain and the reply was a discounted offer for some drinks at the bar. Wow! I said the only thing I require is a decent clean room. With a sour face the receptionist said she will sort it out and off she went. Some bug spray was sprayed in the room to fix the issue. Fine, let s say that will do.
The rooms inside looked in a very big need of some urgent refurbishment, old type of furniture, outdated bathroom fittings and could have been cleaner too. Don t let yourself fooled by the nice rooms with sea view you see in the adds; you ll have to pay extra for those. More often than not you ll end up in just an average room where your balcony overlooks other guests balconies and rooms! Walls and wallpapers had quite some repulsive spot marks on them. Also the air conditioning unit didn t seem to work either as we found the rooms to be very hot during the nighttime.

Breakfast experience wasn t the best either. Went to the breakfast area after wondering in vain through the many other saloons and restaurants this hotel has as there was no clear signage. There, surprise no plates for you to serve the food. Of course not, staff ladies were chatting indifferently to the guests around them. Only after I made the observation there were no plates available finally things started to set in motion. Food was ok hotel average. Fine, after checking out determined not to set foot ever again in this place called hotel off we go toward our next way point in our Holland trip. But wait, out on the busy street in front of the hotel the delivery vans were already at work and I have found myself again stuck in traffic in this little bloody shopping street! Very annoying as you waste a lot of time trying to get to and from this hotel. Surely will never use it again, I do not recommend it !
