University of California, San Diego; commonly used abbreviations "UCSD" or "UC San Diego", referred to as "University of California, San Diego" or "University of California, San Diego" "Yango Branch" is a well-known public institution in the United States. Founded in 1960, it is the nation's first-tier university (Tier I) under the administrative system of the University of California. The school is located in the town of La Jolla, north of San Diego, in the southern city of California. It has the largest campus of 866 hectares among all California universities.
Although San Diego has only established a school for more than 50 years, it has become the top research public university in the United States that focuses on research science and has a very high academic reputation. This school is also known as one of the "public ivy" and is also a member of the American Association of American Universities, an important academic alliance in the United States.
