I'm a visiting library director from NY and I was just blown away by this place. The design elements are simple and clean with so much natural light. Artificial light is artfully placed on the top and sides of the stacks. Technology is everywhere and friendly, there are so many options to sit and use your own laptop or a library pc.
Also, there are tons of different places to sit, study, reflect, read, work in groups and enjoy internal and external (beautiful) vistas. I loved the fact that their were multiple restaurants, including a ground floor one with a bar. Amsterdam is a fabulously progressive city and their library reflects their values. Great job!
