Beijing Capital International Airport (in Chinese: ) is the main international airport in Beijing, the capital of China. (IATA: PEK, ICAO: ZBAA). It is the second busiest airport in the world and is located in the northeast of the city, about 32 km from the city center. The airport is owned and operated by the Beijing Capital International Airport Co., Ltd., a government company. The airport is the largest and most active among airports in China, and includes the main operations center of China Airlines (Air China), in addition to Hainan Airlines and China Southern Airlines.
The airport ranks eighth globally in terms of the number of passengers traveling with 55.66 million passengers annually, and the twenty-first (21) globally in terms of air traffic, including 432 thousand flights annually. It is the only airport in Asia among the 30 largest international airports in the volume of air freight [1].
