Joshua Tiede Review of The Summit at Plantsville

Where to start , I mean in all honesty this place is the dump of all dumps. They lack in over all care, personality and professionalism. My Granfather was there about a year. On so many instances I wanted to then make a bigger deal than I did about things. But, I knew he didn't have much longer to go in life and did not want to make things any worse than they were already for him. I went to see him twice a day, before and after work, as did many members of our family. He was a important family man and a very proud WW2 veteran. I can go on for ever but I will mention his last days. About 3 days before he passed, he was sat in the hallway in a chair that I would not sit my worst enemy. Nodding out, confused and hungry. I fed him and asked that he be put in a bed so he can be comfy. They said ok, a family member called me 3 hrs later and said he was still in the hallway, staff said they had to watch him. So he had to remain there at 93 because they couldnt watch him in the room. He lost control of his bowels and as I sat there and finally got someone to clean him up, as I was scared to move him because he was brittle , otherwise I would have done it myself. As I said I would be right back, all i did was enter the bathroom in the same room I heard the staff member tell him he did it on purpose. I will end there. If you love your family member and are trying to find a place for them keep trying as this shouldn't have to be anyone's last resort. We all feel horrible to this day that there was not room anywhere else in another establishment for him!
