The nurses that showed up to provide care were kin...

The nurses that showed up to provide care were kind and professional. The main issue is the significant lack of communication between main office, nursing staff, and the patient.

We had set days, every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The time and who was coming constantly changed. We were not informed of who was coming or when unless we repeatedly called the office to find out. Typically with home heath, you have set people, and a set schedule of who will be coming and what time. Not a guess and hope they show up each day.

Alpha was great at communicating with us when he would be arriving and gave a 40 minute notice, and also informed us if he would be coming the next scheduled day or not and a rough time frame of his arrival. Everyone else we had to call the main office to find out who was coming, and then request the office to contact them to call us and let us know when they would be arriving. Typically we were given a 15 minute notice, if given notice at all.

Very inefficient scheduling and communication. The other companies we previously worked with gave 24 hour notice of who will be coming and what time. They also provided the nurses contact information should we need to contact them. This type of communication is much appreciated as it allows us to work around other appointments and therapies scheduled. Gem City has been difficult to work with due to the significant lack of communication.

One nurse put the wound vac on incorrectly and it caused damage to the wound and left blistering and skin damage.

We also ran low on supplies needed for care, we told them and they stated they would order us the needed supplies. That never happened, we received nothing and there was never any orders placed.

The frustration with trying to make sure my loved one is cared for is a lot already, adding having to follow up repeatedly with home health to make sure they are doing their job is an unnecessary stress that is not a patients nor their family's responsibility.

Nursing staff was great. Office staff is useless.
