Our experience with NextStep Solutions Inc has not...

Our experience with NextStep Solutions Inc has not been a positive experience. When they met with us and pitched their plans/system, they provided a much-more expansive system than what they provided upon launch.

I could easily list the number of times we've called/emailed and had the response that they had no idea how something happened, where it came from, why it happened, etc.

When calling, you can easily get ahold of someone...getting anywhere, however, is a different problem altogether. If there is an issue that happens, unless they are on the phone controlling your computer at that moment, they have no information in their system showing that any error occurred whatsoever.

They have a separate billing system that is a nuisance. The amount of errors that are not errors are a bit infuriating. Many times, there is an error where you have to go into the service itself and re-check boxes that the system unchecked for it to be billed. If you are a larger business that sends out bills/statements, be prepared for a shock. They don t have any. They seem genuinely confused when we contact them and request a statement to send to patients. We had to speak directly to the engineers and explain what a statement was and how it should look. They even had us send them a prototype of what we thought a statement should look like.

In the clinical system, we requested an option be added to the Transfer Form, and they ve made it a huge issue. We merely requested a dropdown be added (this dropdown exists in the billing widget, but creates an error because it s not available in the Transfer Form), and they re still not providing it. They told us that it would mess up many things and they ll have to work on it.

In our facility, we have 2 businesses we bill under (one is mental health, one is substance abuse). They have no way to have 2 businesses in their system. We have to manually transfer a patient from one business to another if they re receiving mental health and substance abuse. They told us this cannot be changed because it would mess a lot of things up . Our previous software did not have an issue with this.

In essence, if you re a small business that has no need to ever send a patient a bill, then this system should work for you. If patients don t pay for everything upfront, stay away. There isn t even an option to reimburse payments for when Insurance kicks in (we have to make a list and maintain who we have reimbursed with patients due to this).
