For me the prospect of a visit to the Rapid Access Diagnostic Clinic was terrifying: my last visit to a hospital was 60 years previously.
Each and every staff member was superb and the place overflowed with kindness, a sense of humour and a quiet confidence that comes with knowing you are part of the world's leading cancer treatment centres.
