I ve waited a few days to give this review on Westminster Toyota. I m a Toyota guy. I ve had 8 different cars and SUV s over the years from Toyota. I was in the market for a 2008-13 Toyota Highlander. I was looking on Craigslist, FB market place and other websites.

I found a 2012 model with low mileage and the color I wanted. Buying a used car from a dealership wasn t my first choice but I knew it would be hard to find a model like this elsewhere.

I inquired and the sales person Rebin was very responsive. We arranged a test drive. I could tell Rebin was new to the industry but being a Toyota guy and having worked in the industry in my early life, I wasn t worried.

When it came time to negotiate I notice the price of the vehicle was $1000 more. The Manager came over and indicated that Rebin had made a mistake on FB. However I felt this was a little bait and switch move. They made it seem like they could give me a really good deal on my trade in. The Manager agreed to honor the initial FB price.

However, on several occasions they moved the price back up by $1000 and I would remind them about the sales manager agreement to honor the price. It was getting late and I told hem I had to leave and put down a deposit and we would finalize the deal on Saturday.

Once we move over the Business Manager took down my information and I paid the deposit. The next day I asked them to email me a copy of the purchase agreement. Once again the price went up by $1000. I sent a copy of the negotiations that showed the real Purchase price. I m wondering if I was a new purchaser or naive would these people have just taken advantage. I knew that eventually it would all get sorted. I was starting to get annoyed that 4 times over the course of 2 days the price kept jumping up. Now I did say the Sales person was new but still.

On Saturday I came back to close the deals. I had to through the business office and insurance office with various sales pitches for extended warranty and extra coverage, all which I declined.

Usually when you get into a new vehicle the person who sold you the vehicle takes the time to go through the vehicle with you and shows you the vehicle the electronics ie pairing your cell phone etc etc. Nope, none of that happened. It was hand shake and picture and there you go, drive off. I pulled away and pull over and figured out the navigation and pairing myself.

Once I got home I noticed that wheel lock was missing it was in the cup holder on the test drive. I checked every where in the SUV no where to be found. I texted Rebin to let him know. I asked him to simply mail it to me as the dealership was out of the way for me. He told me that I would have to come to the dealership. Another annoyance on the dealership part. Good start.

Fast forward a week and half. I stop by to get the wheel lock. I was with my son and I brought in the purchase agreement. I went to Parts Department and explain the story to Mike. He asked me who my Salesperson was. I suck at names and asked Mike to look it up for me as I handed him the Purchase Agreement. Mike goes well I m not going to give anything you have to buy it and basically shoves the papers back at me.

I was a bit shocked on how rude Mike was and informed him that he had just cost the dealership any of my future business. He smirked at me with a big smile and said have a nice day. As I walked away I think the service manager came and asked me if he could help me. I was so incensed on how I was treated that I said no and Mike over there just cost you my business and I would warn anyone to avoid this place and not expect any after sales service.

Also I would warn people to take a close look and the use car inspection from this dealership as the marked the thread left on the tires at 90-100% when it more like <60%. Again I let this go because of the low mileage on 6 year old SUV and the OEM tires for this model are notorious for wearing down fast.

In Summary avoid this dealership if you expect any honest customer service and follow through....
