While is park has come a long way over the years in its adult attractions (the I5 Dive, zipline, etc.) I found some old favorites have developed a certain level of lameness. The wave pool now runs at a fraction of its former gusto, producing a mere ripple compared to the cresting waves it once did. Attending on the last day of summer, they added the insult of roping half the pool off, leaving us to "swim" in the shallow 4-foot depths while the 5 and 6 foot end remained unoccupied. Further, my 11 year old was denied access to the water slides in the Captain Hook's Playland because she was supposedly too big... a rule that doesn't seem to apply when adults want to go down before or after their children. I have no issue with height restrictions, assuming they are imposed with purpose... particularly safety. But if it's safe for an adult to go and safe for a 7-year old, then I see no reason to restrict the fun of someone in between. Three stars isn't a bad review in my book. If I were going with other adults for rides to thrill, I'd have had a blast in spite of the diminished performance of the wave pool. But my thrills were limited as the supervisor of two young children, so these basics were important, and came up lacking.
