I reviewed Fig Bistro four years ago, and thought it was truly outstanding. My wife and I had dinner there this week while passing through Asheville. My opinion remains the same -- a wonderful small restaurant that puts virtually all others in Asheville to shame.

This time, we both had the bolognese, which we agreed was the best we've ever had -- and my wife is a first-class Italian cook. Even better than her recipe.

Service was terrific. Hard to improve -- particularly for the price. A must try if you are in Asheville.
