This is a really useful organization if you're homeless or going through "life changes."
The people are here to help you out - get food, clothes, find a job, housing assistance, etc. My experience only lasted a couple months during January-February earlier this year, and I actually ended up finding a job that I applied to from here.
It's very convenient for the food especially - they deliver fresh fruit daily. Since it's donation-based, the food is different each day. There are also bag lunches, and twice a month, individuals and families can go to pick up full-size grocery supplies
Sacred Heart is a City of San Jose funded organization, and you're likely to meet a wide range of people while here, but it's all for good. This is a place where people from all walks of life meet together. I just wish I would have found out sooner about them because they helped me out a lot, including also keeping in touch with me after my job started, to make sure that it's working out.
At the Job Link (open from 9am to 3pm, except Fridays 9am to noon) - these people are here to help you get a job. You can browse for jobs on the computers, and there are also dozens of job postings on the post-it wall that they find and print out themselves, or sometimes jobs are posted directly by employers. Either way, the best place to find a job in San Jose IMO, if you're out of work.
