If I could give it zero stars I would. I needed to visit the ER today for my son to get stitches. They said it was busy. Ok, I understand. They did the triage and insurance in a decent time. However, 4.5 hours later and we still weren t seen, I left. I talked to the person at the desk and was told it was just really busy and to hang in there. I understand the ER gets busy and I kept calm because there were people with more severe issues however, 4.5 hours and still nothing is way too long! I have never been so disappointed in the Madison Hospital. There needs to be a way to see quicker less severe issues that happen in off hours while still being there for the more severe and immediate issues.

Edit: The hospital called me the next day. They explained about the patient overload, staffing issues and the fact that there were some exceptional needs for patients already in. While all understandable, perhaps if there is ever a next time, the wait will be much more tolerable.
