Reilly, my Havanese, got a hold of a piece of corn...

Reilly, my Havanese, got a hold of a piece of corn cob and swallowed it. I was told she would need a ultrasound to diagnose if the cob was still in her stomach. I m told little dogs can t digest corn cobs and is the cob gets into the intestines, only surgery will work to remove the cob.
Our primary Vet did not have this equipment. I was told Long Island Veterinary Specialists had this ultrasound equipment. I rushed Reilly to the Long Island Veterinary Specialists last Thursday, July 18, 2019. They did the ultrasound I believe and xrays. I was told to come back Friday for more xrays and we did as told.
We waited in the waiting room for hours and as they were busy, we asked if the emergency Vet, Amanda Pisano, who saw Reilly would call us when free with her findings.
We waited and received no call back. We called Saturday and was told Dr. Pisano was busy with other emergencies. I told the receptionist to me this was an emergency and needed to know what to do with Reilly, due to the unknown of the corn cob passing from the stomach to the digestive system, clogging that up and that would require surgery. I was told I would get a call back. I didn t get a call back.
We called Sunday, received the same response.
I called Monday, was told Dr. Pisano was busy with other emergencies. I asked how long would it take to call me? I am desperately waiting, not knowing what to do.
I called back Long Island Veterinary Specialists Tuesday and was then told Dr. Pisano was off until the following Friday and I would have to wait until she came back to get the results. I told the Long Island Veterinary Specialists Receptionist Reilly could be dead by then, I need to know the results now, not the following Friday ..
The receptionist told me that if it would help, they would forward the finding to our regular Vet, and if they knew how to read they could tell me the prognosis. I said to Long Island Veterinary Specialists receptionist I paid thousands of dollars for this exam and this is how you treat me? Is Dr. Pisano the only person in this vast office full of professionals that can tell me what to do? The Receptionist said, your primary Vet can read, can t they?
So I called back my primary Vet, and all they received from Long Island Veterinary Specialists was the images, no written report. I called Long Island Veterinary Specialists back, told the Receptionist this, and the response was I sent it, but I ll send again if that helps.
My primary Vet said he wasn t sure if the images received were a blockage, or Reilly s kidney, as he wasn t sure what angle the images were taken from.
All I needed was Long Island Veterinary Specialists Dr. Amanda Pisano to call me back and in moments of her time I would have known what to do, but she was too busy for 5 days, then took off not to return until this Friday July 26th, 2019.
If it s possible to give this clinic a number less than zero, I would. The way they treated my poor Reilly and us was unconscionable. I still can t believe what they have put us through.
