Tolerant and welcoming church. When the pastor at my longtime church went to mission in Canada I asked him for a recommendation and he told me about Pastor Glenn at Pantano. Its a hard time in my life right now, and although its a huge church and I am still only sporadically attending, Pastor Glenn remembers my name and greets me each time I am there. Don't know how he does it.
Instead of shying away from the foibles of the faithful, I have heard several sermons on this very topic, and heard the speakers share painful personal stories. I put great stock in such things. That's a hard topic to bridge, and it shows trust from the top down, and the bottom up of the congregation to deal with serious subjects. I have never once felt that politics was put in the way of The Word, and is only used to illustrate the painful divides that people erect between themselves.
