Based in Trastevere just on the fringes of Rome. This is a lovely and clean. Hotel which provides a fantastic continental eat all you can buffet. You can either stay in a standard room which are well proportioned as the hotel used to be apartments, or you can stay on the 8th floor on the roof and have your own patio space. We stay in 816 which boasts the sun pretty much all day ad it has two patio areas. The views from this side are mainly of the other buildings but you can see a bit of the Tiber. The Union suite is room 806 which boasts an uninterrupted view of the River and Malta hoise, with the tomb of the unknown soldier to the left in the distance, this boasts an impressive vista of the mountains in the distance and has a Jacuzzi style bath. This is a great room if you want the bigger bath, and is a bit more pricey than the room we stay in. I personally prefer the bath and shower as opposed to the Jacuzzi because at the end of the day, Rome is for visiting and not spending all your holiday in a bath. We do make use of having the rooftop rooms and always make sure we get a few mornings or afternoons in the sun. We have stayed here 5 times now and it is by and far our favourite place to stay. We visit Rome for 6/7 nights every August.
Highly recommend as it is in the area older than Rome itself and if you wander into Trastevere itself, it's like going back in time. Also with it being on the outskirts, it's a lot cheaper than most without a reduction in the little luxuries.
