I was delivering groceries for someone who lived on the residential side of Waldorf Astoria... Or maybe it was Mandarin Oriental? Or maybe it was cheer or some other name the reason I don't know is because everybody I talked to whether they were employed there or living there or just passing through, not get the same answer twice and certainly could not get a definitive answer. GPS didn't know exactly how to get me there, there was no signage for anything regarding the residential high-rise buildings. The employees all they kept saying was "wow man that's going to be difficult... You need to go where... Yeah that's going to be tough you might have to just park right here and walk all the way over there" which turned out to be probably the best advice I would get that day... After talking to several employees of the hotel, or valet, or really anybody with a name badge that cross my path, I had a general idea of the direction I needed to go. But as far as the appearance and amenities I can say that it certainly a five-star place to live I just wouldn't want to visit. The door man, or the bellhop, or the conciergerie or whatever the hell he was for the residential side was more uppity and smug than any resident actually living there. The way he sneered and sighed at my ice chest filled with groceries you'd think he owned 2 or 3 of the $7m suites and wasn't merely a glorified doorbell-and-elevator-button-pusher.
Other than that, great residents, great views, great displays of wealth and luxuries.
