My high school offers the class Holocaust and Mode...

My high school offers the class Holocaust and Modern Genocide. Throughout the duration of this class I have been able to have an in-depth learning experience that has allowed me to view the world in a different lens. Going to D.C and seeing this museum is part of the class. The message that sticks with you as you venture throughout the main exhibit is that "Never again begins with us." It's a message that seems lost and hollow in today's society because it seems rather simple to let it happen again. Yet the experience this museum offers allows a little gleam of hope to shine through. As you walk through, you are accurately and thoroughly educated on the astrocities that occured during this dark time period. It is especially important to take your time while visiting, allow yourself to read all the information it presents. I must stress that you will lost part of the experience if you fly through it fast. It's a difficult, immersive, sobering experience. Take your children, take your family, take your friends. As the late Elie Wiesel once said, "For the dead and living we must bear witness."
