Filled out an application for respite care since my 87yr old mom kept having medical problems and I was living 30 miles away, trying to run 2 households and work an hour away. My mom lived in Lexington county and I live in Aiken. I was told since I didn't live in Lexington county that they couldn't help me. They told me to contact the lower Savannah Council and fill out a respite application, which I did. They told me that since my mom didn't live in aiken County, they couldn't help me. What?? So guess what happened then??? I RECEIVED NO HELP!!! They tell caregivers to ask for help but when you do, no one helps. It sickens me to know they ARE supposed to help but refused....
