I have been a RockAuto customer for years. With the failure of an alternator 18 months into the 24 month warranty period, I have learned the ugly truth about dealing with this company. They admittedly have no customer service! There is nobody "up the line" who can help me with a problem with their staff and website. The front-line contact person responding to my email is either an idiot, or very good at their job - carelessly denying warranty claims and making customers go away. When they realized I was not going to just "go away", they refused multiple requests to elevate this case to a supervisor and closed my ticket. Don't be fooled, not all issues can be resolved by using their flawed website.
In the future I will gladly pay just a bit more at the local Auto Zone and Advance to get the same "quality" part with a lifetime warranty and more importantly, processing warranty claims are absolutely no problem. Take the failed part to the counter and they give you a new one.
RockAuto has a failed business model that should not be tolerated by customers. We deserve better treatment.
