We had an emergency with our Boston Terrier. She was suffering a weekend of seizures. I chose to bring her to OP Vets because they have the ability to CT or MRI scan on site. Given the Covid-19 rules, we did what we were told. Drove up at about 6:00pm, called to say we were there and then waited for someone to come out and get her. We waited in the parking lot for 45 minutes while our poor little girl seized in the back seat of our car. By the time she actually got inside, she was nearly gone. By 4:30am, she was dead. I have to wonder if she had been taken straight in, she might have had a chance. She was only five years old. When we went in to say our goodbyes to her after she had died, they asked if we wanted footprints . I said yes. I picked up her cremains 12 days later. When I got home and opened the bag, there were no footprints. I spent the next week calling them to find out where they were. I was passed off too many times to count. I was told they would arrive in the mail with a condolence card and it must be a problem with the postal service. She died on July 14th. On the 29th, I received a card with some random footprints. The post mark was the 27th. I have a hard time believing these are actually her prints. Also, they never sent her death records to my own vet until I called and insisted they do. All of this said, the fact is, she s dead. I m not placing blame, but seriously questioning the care we didn t receive. Thousands of dollars were billed to us. All of this has made our grieving process that much harder. I would have a very difficult time recommending this practice to anyone.
