I was excited to stay here, but that quickly turned to disappointment. My family stayed here while in town for a wedding. First off, fair warning, if anyone gives the front desk your name and says they're related to you, they will give that person a key to your room. Wonderful!

While the room was fine, it is definitely dated. The AC was unable to cool the room below 78 degrees the first night, and the matress is quite hard (though the sheets were very nice). The bathroom is not actively ventilated, so it's an instant steamy mess in there, and smells linger.

The rest of the hotel has a strong musty smell, and areas are in extreme disrepair. The steps leading to the bocce court or rotted and some boards are falling away. The door to the pool was so warped and old that it didn't close.

We were originally told that breakfast was included with the wedding block. Then it wasn't. Then it was. And at check out, it wasn't. Two mornings of breakfast for two adults added up to $110...for a buffet. I would suggest going elsewhere in town as there are far better options for less money. You can't even consider the hotel option convenient since you have to walk down the hill to a different building to dine.

Oh, and if you have a handicap, make sure you request an easily accessible room. Most of this hotel is a maze of halls and stairs that would be impossible to navigate. While there may be an elevator somewhere, I never saw it.

Overall, I'm disappointed in this place. It was the only negative spot on an otherwise perfect trip to Tarrytown.
