The nursing staff has been great. The Dr. However is lack on information for treatment after surgery. Dr. Polk. We were told that the cancer was caught early. We got the pathology report and is was quiet different. Already spread to at least 5 of the lymph nodes. Dr. Polk has been unavailable to comment since the day after surgery. This is day 4 and my dear friend here is worried to death. We ask Dr. Polks nurse practioner about the specifics on the type cancer she was diagnosed with and he couldn't come up with an answer. He finally stated that he didnt know about any specifics he was only familiar with the surgery that we would have to seek help from a medical oncologist. When asked about that he said Dr. Polk would get us in to see one in a few weeks. I contacted cancer treatment center of america, got them her medical records and they have already responded and stated the type she has was very fast growth and quick to spread that they would recommend treatment as early as 2 weeks post op if patient has recovered well enough from surgery. So all that being said if we wait on this bunch at Sarah Canon she will be eat up with it. All they seemed worried about is dragging out as much money out of the patient as they can. Wouldn't recommend this FACILITY to anyone.
