Proper Cloth matches and in most cases exceeds the high end NYC shirtmakers quality and customer service for half the price. I know this to be a fact as I have purchased dozens of custom shirts over the past 30 years from the upper echelon of custom shirt makers so I have a strong basis to compare. Why pay so much more just to cover the massive overhead of Manhattan addresses when you can get the same quality for much, much less?
The youngish Staff at Proper Cloth are very impressive and Chris in particular, went above and beyond to make sure I was completely satisfied with the minor adjustments made from my first test shirt. I am six feet five inches tall and 275 pounds with an athletic build that is very difficult to fit from years of weight lifting but Chris met the challenge head on and got it done for this demanding Customer. A little later Brittany assisted me with a very thoughtful minor change in measurement that I only noticed after wearing my shirts a few times. They were perfectly fine as they were, but just a one quarter increase in one measurement made a great shirt even greater.
Guys,don't settle for baggy, shapeless and ill fitting shirts just because they have a designers name on them. Do not buy a slim fit shirt when you are not slim.Stop wearing shirts 2 sizes to big for you because you think they are "comfortable" They look like @#$%. Buy a tape measure, find a friend to measure you using the very well done video tutorial or hop on a plane or train and go get a consultation and measurement at Proper Cloth in person as I did driving 4 plus hours from Maryland to NYC. You will be glad you did, trust me.
