Christopher Adeler Review of Church of St. Ignatius Loyola,...
One of the most beautiful Catholic churches you ...
One of the most beautiful Catholic churches you will ever see both literally & figuratively, on the Upper East Side of Manhattan on Park Avenue & 84th street in NYC.
On the steps the Grand doors open in the front of the Cathedral to a warm welcoming by the beauty of a good-hearted soul welcoming you to join in the Ignatius way of prayer. The Cathedral is one of the largest & most beautiful you will find. The sound of the large Organ pipes vibrate through the church and enlighten. The churches choir is one of the best I have Ever herd, with many prominent singers & dance artists. Every week my family enjoy the walk across the park to join in the Mass at the church. There is a more formal mass upstairs in the main cathedral and in the basement there is a more less formal mass for all to join. The basement mass is Great for families with little kids that want to make a little noise or need to get up and get out some jitters & maybe run around the room a bit. The basement also has a Great band usually & choir. The basement is very large and has a kitchen as well if you need to store & food. There is also refreshments like coffee & cookies or something after mass served with a social presence with your fellow friends & family of the church in the basement One thing issue or con is there is not a handicap wheel chair entrance at the front of the church. At least not yet in 2019 but I believe that the Parish is working on funding for one.
