My husband visited the Ocean Maya Royal all inclusive on our honeymoon last week and we just loved it! It is an 18 and older only place, so it was our type of crowd for sure! Our room was nice, the wildlife was cute (little friendly rodents w/ long tails, friendly raccoons, deer and iguanas), the food was DELICIOUS, and the resort workers were so welcoming and energetic. The only reason we didn't give it 5 stars was because when we arrived there was an issue with the room we booked. We booked an ocean view for 8 days/7 nights and they apparently had a mix up so on our first night, gave us some kind of suite. We were told to not unpack our things and the next day they'd have someone come get our luggage and take it to our real room and we would need to be out by noon, and get our new room key at 3. So that meant, for three hours we couldn't be in the room. Now, was it a problem? No--we just went to the pool and drank/relaxed...but what if we needed a room for something? IDK I just thought we would get compensated for the day, but no one ever gave us anything for our troubles.

Either way, we did have a great time...we will probably go back with some friends/family :) We did join the H10 premium family, so we plan on visiting the other properties soon!

PS I would recommend maybe not traveling to Mexico in September. From what I heard, my husband and I got lucky and it only rained 1 day out of our 8...but usually it rains every single day--so play it safe and don't go during the hurricane season like we did!
