Greeted by a rude employee listed as 'Aheurt' who ...

Greeted by a rude employee listed as 'Aheurt' who refused to honor my reservation made on the choice rewards app. Come to find out he canceled my reservation, then charged me a rack rate, about $50 more. The room had debris in all corners, Wi-Fi did not work in the room and the television did not have a remote, getting Aheurt to do anything was like pulling teeth from a cranky walrus in heat. The phone seemed to have been removed from the wall unit/ drawer in between the beds and replaced with a weird alarm clock, combination under the television, which even Aheurt did not seem to know about. There was all sorts of noise and seedy looking women roaming the halls until well after 3am. I felt like I was in a nicely decorated bizzaro-world section 8 apartment building in the projects, not a $125 a night hotel (the Amway Grand was only $150) I have stayed at this hotel before, and they had a nice hotub, friendly staff, cheese in the lobby and a restaurant. Now all of those amenities are gone and it seems like Covid has become an excuse to get rid of all the hospitalities and they've been replaced by poor customer service and a total lack of care or consideration for it's guests' experience. Whatever standards choice hotels and the ascend collection has, have gone down into the dumps! I recommend staying away from this place-- just look at the reviews and look for another hotel, because this place isn't worth staying at.
