Stanford overcharges grossly for routine work. I recently had a standard ECG which a year previously had been done at a Sutter facility for $388 (all in). Stanford wants $2068 for the exact same 100 year old test. Most of this was 'facility charge'. really? That's usury rates. They hide behind being a 'teaching' instutution, as if that justifies gross overcharging. Maybe they're good for unusual illnesses but stay away for anything routine unless you like being ripped off. At the very least shop around before you let Stanford do anything.
