Gone is the Old World elegance and 1st class presentation that was The Grove Park Inn. My friends and I made our annual trek to The Grove Park for Christmas lunch and shopping. We will not be going again. The food at the Edison was poorly prepared, presented and greasy. The price points were unreasonable for what was presented to our table. A glass of wine was $25 dollars and not even chilled properly! Really. We could have had a better meal at The Waffle House. This would have never been the case before Omni Resorts bought this old gem. As my party and I were leaving I paid $15 for the valet to bring the car around.( that's fine) however they obviously charge a dollar a minute because it took 15 minutes before my car was retrieved. Sadly, we won't be going back to The Grove Park Inn and I certainly will not recommend it when someone asks "What is there to do in Asheville". I will give them plenty of other choices.
