One of the most beautiful archaeological sites in ...

One of the most beautiful archaeological sites in the world: the Villa dell'Imperatore Adriano. From the current remains you can guess the magnificence and opulence of this place designed by the emperor himself. Do not miss the Canopus (artificial swimming pool) around which Adriano held his banquets and "Le grandi Terme"; in this building, solar energy was used to heat the water through an ingenious dome crossed by coils. You can also visit the museum located on the site, where the Villa's original works and sculptures are collected. Around the archaeological site there is a huge olive grove consisting of majestic and very ancient plants. To appreciate how grand this Villa was, just take a look at the servants' lodgings, consisting of over one hundred rooms, located on different floors.
