We waited just over 3 hours to get through immigration on 26 Jan 2019. Red Cross workers needed to tend to some passengers who had succumbed to heat or dehydration. When we asked an airport employee what the problem was, she told us that several planes had landed at once, and this was a normal situation. The terminal was nice enough, but three hours in line was a very unpleasant introduction to Costa Rica.
