Ambulance came for my Dad who lives in Havertown. ...

Ambulance came for my Dad who lives in Havertown. He is 88 years old, and was in bad shape, face swollen, could not get out of bed. He has kidney disease, aortic stenosis, and diabetes. I was at my parents house, when the ambulance arrived, and made sure the techs and driver knew my Dad's pre exsisting conditions, and that he wanted to go to Lankenau. The driver said they were going to take it easy getting there. I thought, okay, no sirens, and flashing lights. I did not expect them to drive miles out of the way. Almost to Delaware County hospital. It took them about 30 minutes. We followed them, pulled up beside ambulance to remind driver to go to Lankenau. He contiued down Darby Rd to Lansdowne Ave. We turned onto W.Chester Pk rt 1, and got to the hospital almost 15 minutes before the ambulance.!! The ambulance could have driven 2 blocks from my parents house taken a left onto Earlington Rd which would go directly to Rt 1, be at hospital in 10 mins. Very alarmed by the "Emergency Service"
