Rented a towel for 8 BP and was told they would not accept the return and exchange for deposit without receipt, even though I was not told I needed the receipt for the return when rented. I had paid with card and so they certainly had a electronic record - apparently first instinct here is to assume their guests are looking to swindle them out of some money with plain white towel returns.

Also no place to lock belongings in them rooms - typically hostels allow you to use locks to secure critical items such as passports & computers, but not here.
