Chelle Giles Review of Hope Health

I would give negative stars if I could. This place is a JOKE. My daughter had a new patient appointment to see Claire Proffer, for shoulder pain, and waited for almost 4 hours to get seen, got told to wait for a call for a referral to get an MRI, and to schedule a 2 week follow up. That call didn't come, so I called back to get told that the referral was never sent to the right person to send said referral. So I got that straight, then got called and told that it would be 3 weeks to get the MRI, and that my daughter couldn't be seen until 3 weeks after that. So I talked to a gal in the office, asking what I should do about the pain in the mean time, the pain has gotten worse since she was seen and given a prescription steroid. I got told to take her to the er, that she couldn't be seen without the MRI, and that no other doctor could see her, because Proffer "knows her". She saw my daughter one time, she's going to read a note. So then, the day before the MRI the imaging place calls me and tells me that the insurance has yet to approve the MRI, and that they had to cancel the appointment. So I call my insurance company. They tell me they requested more info from Proffer and have yet to get a response. I call the office and tell them what the insurance carrier said. They tell me my daughter is scheduled for an MRI tomorrow...no joke, I said that already. After about 4 times of going around in circles, I get put to a voicemail of a nurse. I left a message and never got a call back. So I just called again, and was told that Proffer would be calling me. Awesome. IDK why, the Insurance carrier is going to deny the claim because they didn't get a response in time. I'm going to take my family to Brandi Reynolds, who I go to. She's located pretty far out in Pamplico, but it's worth the drive to me. I could drive an hour and it would be worth it, I'd still get home sooner than if I stayed with Hope Health, AND my family will also get actual medical care, not whatever it is you want to call this. ***Update*** I called again yesterday, because I didn't hear back from Dr. Proffer, and I was told that someone had called me back the day before, at the number on file. I had left my work number on the message because my cell phone was dead. I was told that the nurse put notes on my daughter's chart saying Dr. Proffer doesn't do "Peer to Peer" (which basically means she won't speak to my insurance company to provide further information, which means my daughter doesn't get her MRI and the claim is denied). They said they would leave another message for Dr. Proffer to call me, that she doesn't close until 7:30 and I would hear from her that night. This was 5/24/17 at 4:45 pm. It is now 12:42 pm on 5/25/17 and I have YET to get a phone call. It is absolutely negligible that a so called medical provider does not provide actual medical care. She said that my daughter's shoulder was "crunchy" and it needed an MRI, and prescribed her prednisone. It's obviously an issue, but nobody is trying to help. I'm thinking I might have to call a patient advocate. I won't put up with it, and I will leave the practice, however I will NOT go quietly. This is absolutely unacceptable.
