I don t usually write reviews, but I feel I must share my story. Derrick Dodge is more like a politicians office than a car dealership. They will say anything to get a sale, but don t care about you whatsoever. No basic human consideration, just fake smiles and empty promises.

I came in to look for a used vehicle, and they found one for me that I liked. So we started the paperwork and financing process. I was working on my finances, and was not able to put down a deposit, but they said no problem we ll hold it for you while the finances are arranged.

A few days later I checked their website and noticed that the vehicle I started paperwork on was no longer on their website, and I thought this was odd. I called and left several messages, as well as several emails, for the finance department, but I received no responses. They completely ignored me for days, and I went from being mildly concerned to genuinely upset. So, after getting no responses from finance, I called the manager directly, manager Drew.

I had met him prior, I thought he was a nice guy, so I asked him to check and see if the vehicle I wanted was still there or not, as it was no longer on their website. He put me on hold and checked into it for me. He then came back on the line and told me that they found a mechanical issue on the vehicle, so they sold it to a wholesaler. He said that it was a blessing in disguise, and that I was lucky I did not buy it.

I found out this was a lie.

I guess Drew thought I was an idiot, or that I would fall for his smooth-talking BS, but I know how the procedure works. Vehicles are always thoroughly checked over BEFORE they are put up for sale.

There was nothing wrong with that vehicle, they sold it to a different person without even telling me. They kept me on the line for days while my finances were going through, assuring me that the vehicle was mine, then just sold it to the next person to give them an offer.

Now I know I did not put down a deposit, BUT the Right Thing they should have done would be to call me, and explain the situation. They could have just called me to say that they had someone else interested, and that if I didn t put any money down on the vehicle they would sell it to the other person. Simple. But they didn t. No courtesy whatsoever.

I would have understood if they were just honest with me. But no, instead they lied to me and made up a story to cover their own shadiness. No one from Derrick Dodge ever did call me to let me know it was sold, I had to hound them to get any answers. Then later, they simply said well come in and we ll find you something else as if nothing happened, no apologies for the inconvenience or anything.

How could I ever trust them again after being lied to? Especially by a manager. The whole ordeal was just very disrespectful and callous.

In the end it was a blessing for me because it showed me their true colours, and I went to a different dealership who were above and beyond kind.

I am SO GLAD that I did NOT purchase a vehicle from Derrick Dodge. They will say anything to make a sale, but they re all lies, fake smiles, and empty promises. I do not trust them at all. They are the worst dealership I have ever dealt with, and I will never go there again.

DO NOT RECOMMEND!

My advice: go literally anywhere else. Save yourself the grief. And read dealership reviews before you buy!

No one deserves to be lied to for a sale.
