Overpriced and Underpresented.

The food was interesting and there were some great pieces, but I have to say this is the most overpriced meal I've ever had. I don't mind spending money on a great meal, but I would go to other 5 star restaurants 3 times for the price of this place.

The veggie pave, the wagu beef, and the smoked fish dishes were great.

The beet ricotta near the end was terrible, truffles shouldn't be shaved on a dish (they taste like regular mushrooms that way, for a $50 upcharge), some of the dishes were replicas of other courses with one change, other things didn't go together in any way. I can understand eclectic dining, this just didn't feel on purpose at times

They gave us complimentary dessert pieces at the end for my husbands bday, I took one bite of each and left the rest. How do you screw up a truffle??

The wine paring was not worth it, the wines didn't seem to change with the food or vice versa, which is kind of the point of a wine pairing

The service was terrible. Not any kind of restaurant terrible, she was kind and prompt, but at a place like this I expect more. She didn't seem to have the courses memorized or be able to answer any of our questions about wine or food.

I admit, we went on a Thursday night for my husband's bday, so probably not 1st string serving staff, but that shouldn't matter as much in a place like this

I would go up to the bar maybe some night, but won't go back for the courses
