Durango School District 9R was such a great place to work a few years ago. Since Dan Snowberger was hired as superintendent and proceeded to dismantle a great district and replace all the top administrators with cronies from the Front Range, I have heard nothing good about working there. Things like, "I was so glad to get out of there", and "I have never seen the teachers so stressed". Dan is a soulless technocrat, and a very unimaginative one at that, always chasing yesterday's educational fads. He treats everything as a zero-sum game, where someone has to win and someone has to lose. He is inherently dishonest, and operates to divide and conquer. Until Snowberger is chased out of town, the school board gets a clue, and the district is returned to local control, I would not recommend working there.
