NOT located on the beach, or anywhere near the beach. It s run by a corrupt, and disgusting group of directors: Freddy (an old grumpy lady who is running the place into the ground, along with any remaining credibility left within BHOP) then there s Ernie, a heavyset male version of Freddy. Both commit fraud by forcing clients to stay against their own will, or threaten to baker act clients if they choose to leave against medical advice.
Overall, my experience was fairly ok at BHOP it came to my final weeks, then it quickly became worse! For primarily 2 reasons, so BEWARE! I'll start with my negative criticisms first:
1. BHOP staff was aware of a pending court date for DUI that I had after I finished rehab. I told them I needed a "completion letter" for court, and they REFUSED to give it to me!!!! Even though I completed treatment, and was medically discharged - what a DISGRACE!
#2. My case manager was lazy and waited (until the day before my discharge) to scramble to find a Halfway House.
Also, the people who are the heads of administration: Freddie and Ernie (co-directors of BHOP) are on power-trips - they had the final say whether I would be given a completion letter upon discharge, but refused! SMH, they didn't care whether it would affect the rest of my future in a negative way or not. Which should raise some RED FLAGS about the facility itself.
The choice is yours, but if you have legal issues, and need a letter for court; they may end up screwing you over.
