I hope you will take the time to read this review....

I hope you will take the time to read this review...it will save you the frustration and money we are going through. The rating of 1 star is only because that is the lowest they offer.
My daughter had an appt for them to take up the carpet in her LR, Hallway, take up the Tile in her DR and have a laminate wood floor installed. When the Installer came out, he tore up the carpet, then stated that he couldn't put the floor down, because there was a Fireproof cement floor under tile in the DR. (see end of review to see that this was not a fireproof floor) So he placed the torn up carpet back down...didn't secure it, it is a Berber carpet so it is snagged at the places he cut to tear up, it is just pieced together, the seams are sticking up, the tack strip is exposed. I have pictures and it looks horrible. I called right away the Sales Man Donald Lamasky as to what they were going to do for us, and that it was unacceptable to have the torn up carpet put down the way it was, without securing it and making it look as close to as it was when the installer came. Also, I asked that she get her Deposit money back. We were told he would see what he could do about the carpet and we had to call Empire and ask for a Refund. That we would get it and Empire doesn't want any negative reviews. That was on July 5th. We are now at July 26th, haven't heard anything, even though I have sent numerous messages to Donald which I have as documentation. I have asked for his Managers contact info so that maybe he has the clearance to refund her deposit money. Nothing.
Empires Customer Service has ALOT to be desired. You are calling into a call center that they have NO knowledge nor are they able to get you to the right department so that you can get the help you need.
You are on hold for the minimum, for us anyway, has been no less than 25 minutes. You then hope you get a person that can speak decent English.
My next step today is calling the BBB to get their help with getting her deposit money returned. We have given up hope that the carpet will be put down as it was when the tech came out.
In the meantime I should mention that a builder has come out to take a look at the so called Fireproof floor under the tile. it is QuickCrete! YEP, not a Fireproof floor at all--it is a thin layer of QuickCrete because that portion of her home is on a slab, a thin layer was put down as a barrier to adhere the Tile to. The remedy is when the tile is torn up, it will crumble, so you clean it up and lay another thin layer of QuickCrete down let dry and you once again have your base ready for the new floor. You would think after 40 plus years in business this would be known by Empire.
So, what we are asking is her deposit money back, a call back from her Sales man or his Manager.
This Experience will be put all over Social Media, our Local Newspaper and I will be sure that I ask all of my Social Media friends to share it...this should be sure to carry it through the United States.
ANYONE READING WHO READ TO THIS POINT... WE MADE A MISTAKE AND DIDN'T READ THE REVIEWS ON EMPIRE...READ AND EDUCATE YOURSELF BEFORE YOU SUBJECT YOURSELF TO A NIGHTMARE!

My daughter has replied back at the email you have supplied in your feedback-we still have not heard anything from you.
