Barb Chamberlain Review of Planet Java
Great diner experience, great food, great service!...
Great diner experience, great food, great service! Got the fastest cup of coffee in front of me I've had in the 2 months I've been living in Seattle. Not designer or artisanal coffee--just the great basic drip you expect in a diner.
We had breakfast, which they serve all day. I had the garden scramble with feta cheese; veggies seemed fresh and not overcooked, hash browns were crispy just the way I like them (although they seem to be the usual reconstituted kind most diners use), and when I asked for honey with my English muffin the waitress asked if I wanted an extra plate to lay out the English muffin and pour honey over it. My husband had the Denver omelet and said it was good too.
Bottomless cup of coffee, attentive service without being too much. The decor is old-time diner: stainless steel table tops, kitsch on the walls. Bonus points to the young waitress for instantly being able to name the lead singer of Journey. All in all a great value just a few blocks away from where you'd pay much more for the same breakfast at Pike Place Market. Our breakfasts were around $8/apiece.
