My husband and I had searched for over a year for the perfect island for our backyard oasis. We happened upon Affordable BBQ s while driving down Indiana in Riverside. We went into the shop and met up with Ivan. We told him we were looking for an 8 x 8 barbecue Island and he proceeded to draw us a diagram. He promised us it would be ready within 7 to 9 weeks so we left our initial deposit. We went to floor and decor to pick out the stone and tile that we wanted on our island. We took it back to the shop the following day. Three weeks had gone by and we didn t hear anything from them so we drove from Menifee to Riverside and they hadn t even started on our island and we were told by Wendy not to worry that it would only take them a week once they got started. We went back to the shop after seven weeks and still no barbecue Island. My husband asked if we can get a refund and Wendy was in shock and said not to worry we are not going anywhere and we will get your island done. We finally get a photo on August 6 with the island built and the backer board in place. I contacted them on August 7 to question the size that it looked awfully small and I was assured that it was the correct dimensions. It was finally delivered on August 16 and once it was here I did the measurements and the base of the island measured 7 x 5 which is nowhere near the 8 x 8 that we ordered. According to Carlos the foreman and Ivan when they measure an island they include the overhang. I told them that is not the way a barbecue island is measured nor is it how our diagram was drawn. Ivan disagreed and instead of trying to correct his error he said I will not be compensating you and I will see you in court. Very poor customer service and as the saying goes, you get what you pay for be aware of Ivan s deceit when it comes to building your island!!! take your business elsewhere as this company is not trustworthy!!! I wish I would have reviewed the comments in the review section before we stepped foot in his shop. Once in the shop and saw there was NO showroom we should have left. We thought we were supporting a family owned business but instead have endured nothing but problems.
