A little disappointing. First experience with the school, I had already surfed a couple of times in other schools. We chose an initiation class of 2h.
We were unlucky with the sea, with little waves, but the class consisted simply of rowing. They did not teach us to stand on the table. In the other initiation classes I attended, they explained the whole theory to me and at least then they let me try to catch a wave.
The worst thing was being paddling all the time and seeing other groups from the school trying to catch them and not even explaining to us how to try to stand up. The sensation was that being an initiation class they had us entertained for two hours, leaving the waves for other groups; and honestly since you pay the class I expected a little more.
I understand that paddling is an important part, but surfing class fell a bit short, it was more like paddling class ...
On the other hand, in other surf schools that I attended, if the day had little swell, they told us that they did not rent to surf that day and we could change it to another day with better conditions; and today that did not happen.
Answer: as a newbie to surfing, I hope that the school will tell me which day is appropriate and which is not to learn. On the other hand, the main criticism is not directed towards the day in question or the waves that are variable, but towards the teaching received since it seemed incomplete to me; I insist, it was a kind of rowing, not surfing.
